pride marchig in th 1970"s
just over 2 decades ago, being gay was frowned upon. 3 years ago it was illegal to have a gay marriage. Today in most of Africa being gay is a crime punishable by death. Why? Besides a book written and probably altered by a man that says its an “abomination” ti be gay. Why is it so taboo. Some parents just go around the topic altogether and avoid it. Some come with an open mind. But in 2016 in the land of the free should we really be shunning people over something they cant control. I mean if we are really getting down to the knitty gritty with the bible and church, you have no authority to judge people because the bible says “judge not” but people interpret it in different ways. A lot of “holy people tend to completely leave out parts of the bible and take the parts that they want to see and shove it down peoples throats. God also says to love not hate yet people still stand outside wielding signs like “ god hates gays” and other derogatory names towards gays. Why though. Its almost like the world is afraid to experience change. Even in 2016 I hear ignorant things from people. A good friend of mine named john is around my age and very gay. Always very sweet and would give anything to anyone if they asked. When I found out he was gay I never though different of him. People live different lifestyles and people always fail to consider the fact that no human being is the same and homosexuality has been going on since the beginning of time. If we minded our business and stopped trying to tell people how to live their lives we would be so much more advance than we are. Next time you have something negative to say about gays look in the mirror and ask your self “what am I doing wrong”.
